For the past 30 years or so, I’ve been on my ‘Songs No One Likes’ tour. Unfortunately, my friend Ed recently confided that he likes the songs no one likes and so the tour might have to get renamed to the ‘Songs No One Likes except Ed Ehret Tour’, which I’m not really crazy about. You’ve heard of ‘New Age’ music? I play ‘Old Age’ music. The closest thing I get to Heavy Metal is playin a kazoo... Old Folkie or Old Fogie? What’s the difference anyway? Anyway, before I got the courage to get up on a stage alone, I played with the Method Trainer Band (‘Bad Taste is Timeless Tour), the Dwight D Eisenhower Memorial Band, Frankie and the Tuxedos, Two Yutes and AARP among others. I ran open mics at the Brighton Bar and Internet Cafe and also had a folk music column in Chris Barry’s Pipeline Magazine way back in the day. Musical influences are the Dirdie Birdies Jug Band, Pete Agnoli, Holy Modal Rounders and then the usual assortment of great songwriters from the 1930’s on. Music keeps me sane and I try to play good songs. When I’m not playing I try to answer the great philosophic questions, for example, ‘Is there life Before death?’
